The woman killed in this morning’s road crash in Co Derry was has been named by police as 23 year-old Leanne Dripps from Upperlands.
The two-car collision occurred on the Agivey Road in Kilrea at approximately 8.15am.
Firefighters from Kilrea and Ballymena used hydraulic cutting equipment to release a man in his 40s, who was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The Agivey Road remains closed to allow PSNI road accident investigators to examine the scene.
Traffic is being diverted away from the area.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Agivey Road around the time of the collision to contact them at the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station on the new non-emergency number 101.
