Derry-based radio station BBC Radio Foyle scooped a major accolade at last night’s prestigious Celtic Media Awards.
The station, which broadcasts to the North West from its Northland Road headquarters in the city, won Station of the Year at the event held in St Ives, Cornwall.
The ceremony was held as part of the Celtic Media Festival which celebrates broadcasting and film talent from Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man, Cornwall, Wales and Brittany.
Last year, Radio Foyle won the Local Station of the Year category at the PPI (Phonographic Performance Ireland) Radio Awards at which its presenter, Sarah Brett, won the News Broadcaster of the Year accolade.
