Derry City travel to Oriel Park tonight to take on Dundalk in another crucial SSE Airtricity Premier Division clash buoyed by last night’s 1-0 win over Sligo Rovers.
That win over Rovers, Derry’s first in five attempts, is the boost manager Roddy Collins needed as he prepares to face Stephen Kenny’s Dundalk who were impressive in their 4-1 mauling of defending champions St Patrick’s Athletic at Richmond Park on Friday night.
Definitely out of tonight’s clash is Barry McNamee who is still recovering from injury while the manager’s son, Roddy Jnr, is considered doubtful after limping out of the early stages of the Sligo clash.
Former Derry City midfielder, Ruaidhri Higgins, released by Collins when he took over from Declan Devine at Brandywell, is included by Stephen Kenny in the Dundalk squad for tonight’s clash which kicks off at 7.45pm.
Tonight’s other games in the Airtricity Premier Division are:
Athlone Town v Bohemians (7.45pm)
Bray Wanderers v St Patrick’s Athletic (7.45pm)
Limerick City v Cork City (7.45pm)
Sligo Rovers v Drogheda United (7.45pm)
Shamrock Rovers v UCD (8.00pm).
