Derry athlete Scott Rankin put in another excellent performance to claim a creditable third place in the Titanic Quarter 10k held in Belfast yesterday.
The Foyle Valley Athletic Club runner was in contention up until the final stages of the race before losing out to pre-race favourite, Paul Pollock of Annadale Striders, who took the tape in 30.39.
Joe McAllister, of St Malachy’s AC, took second place in a time of 31.58 with Rankin clocking 32.29.
Lifford AC’s Ann-Marie McGlynn won the ladies race in a time of 35.16 ahead of her clubmate Nastasha Adams (36.22) with Gerrie Short (Beechmount Harriers) third in 39.49.
