Thieves who thought they would make a “quick rise” after breaking into a Derry bookmakers office following Saturday’s Grand National were left disappointed after finding no cash on the premises.
The break-in occurred sometime between 10.15pm on Saturday and 8.00am this morning.
A PSNI spokesperson said entry to an upstairs office was gained through a side door on Edward Street.
The office was ransacked and a mobile phone was taken. No cash was cash taken.
The police spokesperson asked anyone with information to contact detectives at Strand Road on the police 101 non-emergency.
