Derry captain Mark Lynch has been named the Ulster GAA Writers Player of the Month for March.
The 28-year-old Banagher player was presented with the accolade following his performances against Kildare and reigning All-Ireland champions Dublin in which he scored 1-06 in each game.
He said he was “both surprised and pleased” to win the prestigious award.
In winning the award, Lynch saw off the challenge of Antrim hurler Paul Shiels, Monaghan footballer Dessie Mone, Fermanagh’s Thomas Corrigan, Donegal’s Christy Toye, All Ireland championship handball winners Aishling Reilly and Johnny Woods and Tyrone hurler Declan Casey.
