A security alert in one of Derry’s most affluent streets was sparked after a suspicious object was discovered under a car.

Talbot Park, off the Culmore Road, has been sealed off and a number of residents have been moved from their homes.
The alert began at around 1.30pm after a woman noticed the object under a car parked in the driveway of her home.
It is understood the woman telephoned her husband who then alerted police.
British army technical officers (bomb squad) are at the scene.
