Police in Derry are to implement a “zero tolerance” policy to anti-social and criminal behaviour in the Galliagh area of the city.
The pledge comes after the discovery of a “drugs den” in the Lower Galliagh Road area.
Police have said they will also to increase patrols in the area after concerns were expressed by children as young as 12 years of age were involved in drug-taking.
PSNI Sergeant Phil Martin, Foyle City North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said police were doing their utmost to address anti-social behaviour in many areas, including the Lower Galliagh Road, area and over the next number of weeks would be enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy to antisocial and criminal behaviour.
He added: “Over the next few weeks we will be focusing patrols on this area and anyone found to be breaking the law will be arrested.”
