Derry athletes took two of the three podium places at the Inishowen Half Marathon held in Buncrana yesterday.
City of Derry Spartan Greg Roberts recorded a time of 1.15.37 over the undulating course, made more difficult by windy conditions, to take second place behind DSD AC’s Joe Sweeney.
Foyle Valley’s Chris McGuinness continued his impressive from to take third spot in a time of 1.16.18.
Mark Mullan (City of Derry AC) finished sixth place in 1.19.34, Foyle Valley AC’s Andrew Wallace covered the 13.1 mile route in 1.26.39 while club mate Richard Gallagher ran 1.34.01 to finish in 45th place.
Foyle Valley AC pair Sean Molloy (1.40.06) and David Wylie (1.40.33) also claimed top 100 placings.
Former Irish Olympian and winner of last year’s Titanic 10k, Pauline Curley (Tullamore Harriers), won the ladies race in 1.20.13 with Marina Campbell (City of Derry AC) in third place with a time of 1.28.46.
