A 32-year-old Derry man was given a conditional discharge at Derry Magistrates Court day for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Sean Jackson, of Bawnmore Place, Strathfoyle claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £3,497 while failing to declare employment.
He was given a conditional discharge for two years and fined £50.
He will also have to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
