Finn Harps make their shortest away trip of the First Division season tonight to face Longford Town at the City Calling Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).
Longford come into the game on the back of a shock defeat against Shamrock Rovers B’ last weekend but Harps boss Ollie Horgan still knows they will prove a formidable opponent.
Harps have conceded four goals in their six First Division games this season, with only one of them coming from open play.
Harps have had some success against Saturday opponents in Longford in recent times. Prior to last season’s 3-1 defeat, Harps had won on each of their previous three visits to the Midlands.
A win tonight will see Harps leapfrog Wexford Youths into second place behind Shelbourne, albeit five points behind the Dubliners.
Josh Mailey and Keith Cowan are both suspended for tonight’s game, meaning that Caoimhin Bonner is in line for his first start of the season.
Kevin McHugh, who has only played in the opening game of the season, remains out with a hamstring injury.
Last night’s results:
Waterford United 1 Shamrock Rovers B 0
Shelbourne 2 Cobh Ramblers 0
Wexford Town 0 Galway FC 1
