An incident in the Fountain area of Derry in the early hours of yesterday morning involving a gang of around eight men is being treated by police in the city as a “sectarian hate crime.”
The incident occurred around 2.30am when the men, in dark hoodies, attacked a black Peugeot 206 that was parked up.
When challenged, they shouted sectarian abuse and made off in the direction of Artillery Street.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone with information about the incident to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number.
