Two tributes to the late poet Seamus Heaney are to be held in Dublin later today.
A tapestry – paid for by US singer-songwriter Paul Simon and U2’s Bono among others – in tribute to the Derry poet laureate will unveiled in Terminal Two of Dublin Airport.
Later, Paul Simon will among guests who will commemorate the poet at an event in Dublin’s National Concert Hall.
Other guest speakers include Irish President Michael D Higgins, poet Michael Longley and Strabane singer Paul Brady.
The event has been jointly organised by Dublin City Council and Poetry Ireland, as part of the Dublin: One City, One Book festival.
The piper Liam O’Flynn, who worked with the Nobel Laureate over the years, will also be among the guests.
Members Heaney family are expected to attend.
