City of Derry AC will host the final race in the run up to the Airtricity Walled City Marathon in Derry tomorrow.
The Airtricity 10 mile road race will start (11.00am) and finish in Ebrington Square and will cover a mainly flat course, most of which will be along the banks of the River Foyle.
City of Derry duo Greg Roberts and Declan Reed are expected feature at the head of the pack.
AAI National Masters Cross Country champion, Reed has been racing more than Roberts in recent months and having put in top performances at the Letterkenny AC Easter Sunday 3k (8:48) and the Airtricity 10k (32:11), he will be hopefully of recording a time somewhere in the region of his current 10 mile personal best, which stands at 55:50.
Distance specialist and 2:21:18 marathoner, Roberts should not be ruled out though; he is currently training for the SSE Walled City Marathon and should be in good shape going into this event.
Local runners Chris McGuinness (Foyle Valley AC), Noel Logan (City of Derry AC) and Adrian McGowan (Foyle Valley AC) should also play a prominent part in proceedings.
Ann-Marie McGlynn (Lifford AC) will be the stand-out favourite in the ladies competition.
The race, of course, will feature hundreds of runners who have entered for the Walled City Marathon taking place in Derry on 1 June next.
