Anyone who will not be able to vote in person on election day on 22 May next has been urged to apply for either a postal or proxy vote.
Derry Sinn Fein Cllr Paul Fleming, who is seeking re-election in the Faughan ward, said this included people, who were housebound due to illness, students away at university, people who work away from home or people who would be on holidays at the time.
Cllr Fleming said postal and proxy registration forms could be downloaded from the Electoral Office website: http://www.eoni.org.uk/ or at any local Sinn Féin Office.
The closing date for applications is 5.00pm this Thursday, 1 May.
