Doire Colmcille seniors and minors both recorded sound victories in the latest round of league games.
The seniors, blending youth with experience, turned in a massive performance to defeat Magherafelt on Friday.
The team showed tremendous determination and character with excellent displays from Dean Curran, John Devine and James McQuillan among others.
Team boss, Brian Duffy, has warned his charges not to get carried away and to continue working hard at training to build on the promising start to the season.
Next up for the seniors is a home game against Glack this Sunday at Templemore sports complex.
Colmcille minors turned in an excellent performance to defeat Loup in a high scoring game.
Colmcilles’ Dean Curran is continuing to impress with the county minor squad and scored 1.3 in Derry’s last outing against Down.
Training times for the seniors and minors have been changed for the next few months. Both squads will train at St Columb’s college on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7pm).
Colmcille seniors start their league campaign this Saturday with a game against Drum.

Nursery (4 years – 6 years), St Cecilia’s, Thursdays, 6.15pm to 7pm; under-8 to 12 years, St Cecilia’s, Thursdays, 7pm to 8pm and St Columb’s college indoor, Saturdays, 11-30am to 12.30pm.
Under-14, St Columb’s college 3G pitch, Saturdays, 11am to 12.30pm.
Under-16s, St Columb’s college 3G pitch, Saturdays, 11am to 12.30pm and Brooke Park indoor, Tuesdays, 8pm to 9pm.
Under-18s, Tuesdays and Thursdays, St Columb’s College (7pm).
