The Northern Ireland Under-12 Schools Cup will be rest in the trophy cabinet of a Derry school tomorrow evening as a result of the final being contested between two local schools – St Joseph’s Boys and St Columb’s College.
St Joseph’s are taking part in their second consecutive final having been defeated last year by St Malachy’s, Belfast, while St Columb’s are hoping to repeat their success of three years ago.
To get to the final, St Joseph’s defeated Ballyclare , Clounagh High School (Portadown) and Boys Model School (Belfast).
St Columb’s saw off CBS (Glen Road), Fort Hill, Dromore High and St St Malachy’s College to reach tomorrow’s final which will kick off at 12.00 noon at the 3g pitch in Ballymena Showgrounds.
St Columb’s are going for a cup double tomorrow as the Buncrana college’s under-16 team take on St Louis (Ballymena) on the main pitch at the Ballymena Showgrounds (ckick off 1.00pm).
Meanwhile, St Joe’s will also be represented in the under-12 Minor Plate Final as they take on Colaiste Feirste at 1.30 p.m. while in the Girls Senior Cup Final, Thornhill College take on Holy Cross.
