A Derry man is to seek election to Donegal County Council.
Ryan Stewart, who now lives in Buncrana in Inishowen, will contest the Donegal North East electoral area where nine seats are up for grabs.
A director of Even Keel Financial Ltd and Frost Debt Solutions is standing as an Independent candidate.
In recent years, the former St Columb’s College pupil has been to the forefront of the campaign to abolish the Vehicle Registration Tax.
He contested the 2011 General Election in which he polled 203 first preference votes.
Voters go to the polls in the Republic on Friday, 23 May next, a day after the North’s local government elections.
