After the success of the previous five years of the calendsrs, Derry City Council is calling on photographers, young and old, to again come up with winning images for the next year’s publication.
The 12 winning photos selected will feature in the 2015 calendar celebrating diversity in the Derry City Council area in the year of “Music City 2014.”
The free calendar will promote the message that “Diverse City” welcomes people from different communities, religions, cultures, traditions and identities.
Mayor of Derry, Cllr Martin Reilly, attended the launch by Derry City Council’s Community Relations team in the Diverse City Partnership Building and congratulated the 12 successful local groups who are participating in the Image of Diversity project, in which groups receive a free camera and are encouraged to take photographs locally and submit them to the competition.
Mayor Reilly said the “Spice of Life” calendar had become a “welcome feature” in homes and offices across the City Council area.
He added: “I would encourage everyone to get involved and get snapping and for the competition and capture the essence of our city and its people.”
There are a number of categories that photos can be entered into and these can all be found on the application form which can be obtained from the Shared Future Centre or by contacting a member of the Community Relations team on (028)71365151.
