A mother and her son were injured when they were attacked in the Carnhill area of Derry last night.
A 28 year old man and a 27 year old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident which occurred shorty after 7.40pm.
A PSNI spokesperson said both were currently assisting police with their enquiries.
