Police are hunting three people, including a woman, following a car hijacking last night which left three men badly shaken.

The incident happened at the Vale Centre in Greysteel shortly after 10.00pm.

A police spokesperson said three men were ordered out of a blue Renault Clio by the couple who pulled up beside them in a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf car.

After forcing the driver and two passengers out of the Clio, the driver of the Golf who was believed to have been armed with a screwdriver, got into the car with another man and drove off.

The spokesperson added: “All three males were left badly shaken and it is believed that their mobile phones were left in the car during the incident. Enquiries are continuing.”

The spokesperson asked anyone who witnessed the hijacking or who had any other information that could assist the investigation to contact  CID at Limavady Police Station by calling the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
