Police are hunting a “sneak thief” who stole car keys from a house in Derry at the weekend.
The incident occurred at Northland Parade shortly after 11.00pm on Sunday when a hooded youth opened the front door of a house and grabbed car keys from the hallway.
The thief, who ran off towards Northland Avenue, was challenged by residents but made good his escape.
He is described as being 5’2″ in height, of slim-build and was wearing dark clothing.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a youth running off to call police on the 101 non-emergency number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
