A Derry hotel has scooped a prestigious international award.
The City Hotel won the 2013 International Hotel of the Year category in Interstate Hotels and Resorts’ annual awards for its performance and leadership of its management team over the last year.
The coveted International Hotel of the Year award was presented to the hotel at the leading global hotel management company’s 2014 global leadership conference, “The Power of One” in Arlington, County Virginia, America.
Feargal O’Canain, City Hotel general manager, said the award recognised the “exceptional standard” of service – offered on an international scale – the hotel offered its guests.
He added: “But rather than bask in the glory of this award, this recognition will instead act as a spur to strive for ever higher standards of service.”
Ciaran O’Neill, Regional Vice President of Operations, Interstate, said by wining the award, the City Hotel had “really put Derry on the international hospitality map.”
He added: “Their success stands as just reward for their use of intuitive training, experienced leadership and productive working relationships for the benefit of guests.”
