A £200,000 major resurfacing scheme at A6 Glenshane Road near the village of Curran, Magherafelt in Co Derry is to begin in the next three weeks
Preliminary work will begin on 9 June and the work is expected to last for two weeks on this 400metre stretch of road.
Announcing the dates for the commencement of the work, Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said the scheme would “greatly improve” the strength and surface quality of the carriageway at the junctions on the “important Euro route” between Derry and Belfast.
The majority of the work is programmed to be completed using a “Follow-Me” traffic control system which will reduce the traffic to alternating one way at a reduced speed of 20mph.
