The people of Derry are being called on to get behind local retailer, RoCo Hair, in their bid to become the first Irish company to win the Retailer of the Year Award for its work in protecting the environment and creation of a sustainable future.
The call comes from the city’s Mayor, Cllr Martin Reilly, who said: “As the Irish first company to be even shortlisted for the award under the prestigious ‘2014 Observer Ethical Awards,’ I urge you all to take a few minutes to support them and ensure that a Derry company brings the title home to the city.
RoCo has been a growing and busy salon in the city since opening in 2011 and it is their work with an established lab offering a range of naturally organic and locally sourced products which could win them this accolade.
“This is a great position for a local and new retailer to be making waves and a name for themselves in this way, and they are up against a number of UK wide retailers who have equally great offerings in terms of producing naturally, with a focus on conserving the environment by minimising their carbon footprint.
“RoCo widely supported the Movember campaign to raise funds for the fight against testicular cancer, and now I would encourage you all to supporting our indigenous retailers, and especially those who follow this ecologically friendly business model by voting for them.”
Voting closes tomorrow.
