A fisherman rescued off the Inishowen coast yesterday is recovering in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
The lobster fisherman was plucked from the sea to safety after local farmer John Grant heard his cry for help while tending to his sheep at Tullagh Bay.
The circumstances surrounding the rescue are even more amazing considering the man was an estimated half a mile out to sea clinging to a lobster buoy.
Mr Grant contacted Malin Head radio station who set in motion a chain of events which saw the man’s rescue.
After being being transferred from a civilian boat to the Lough Swilly RNLI lifeboat, he was taken by the Rescue 118 helicopter to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment.
