Over £70,000 has been announced for the The Koram Centre in Strabane.
The Centre delivers a professional counselling and psychotherapy service through therapeutic interventions tailored to meet individual need.
These interventions help to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of residents living in the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal area.
Siobhan McGuckin, Koram Centre chairperson, said the funding would allow the Centre to continue to provide much needed therapeutic interventions that respond to the emotional needs of local residents living in the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal area.”
Announcing the funding, Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland, it would allow the Centre to continue to provide health interventions at a community level through close working relationships with local schools, health service providers and local communities.
He added: “The links between deprivation and poor health are well known. This funding will help to improve the quality of the lives of residents living in the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal area.”
