Kenyan Freddy Keron Sittuk, training partner to Olympic 5,000 and 10,000 metre champion Mo Farrah, has been confirmed as a late entry for this weekend’s Wall City (Derry) Marathon.
Sittuk won the recent Belfast Marathon in a time of 2:18:30, finishing almost three minutes ahead of fellow Kenyan Joel Kipsang.
He will be among 1,500 runners who will set off at 8.00am on Sunday from the Everglades Hotel in the Waterside to cover the 26.2 mile course, finishing at Guildhall Square.
No doubt, Sittuk will be aiming for a course record and the £1,000 bonus up for grabs for a sub two hour 25 minute finish.
