Derry City face an uphill task if they are to secure their first league away win of the season as they trail defending champions 3-0 at half-time in their SSE Premier Division clash at Richmond Park.
Three goals in ten minute period looks to have secured the three points for the home side who are full value for their three-goal half-time lead.
Derry were put on the back foot from the kick-off and it was no surprise when Christy Fagan put Pat’s ahead in the 13th minute when he beat Gerard Doherty with a low left-footed shot in the 13th minute.
Pat’s doubled their lead six minutes later when a Keith Fahey effort was cleared off the line by Ryan McBride only for the ball to rebound of Fagan into the net.
Conan Byrne put the home side firmly in control when he rose to head home a Killian Brennan corner in the 23rd minute.
