Police in Derry are appealing for information about an assault on a 14-year-old boy.
The teenager was cycling across the Peace Bridge at about 9.00pm on Wednesday last when he passed a group of four people, two male and two female.
One male chased after the boy, grabbed him by his left shoulder and attempted to jump on the stunt pegs at the rear of the bike.
Due to severe pain having broken his collar bone recently, the boy stopped and told his attacker about the injury.
As the boy attempted to cycle off again, male again attempted to jump on the back of the bike.
When the male backed off, the teenager was then approached by a female who grabbed his injured shoulder and punched him on the arm.
A PSNI spokesperson said the teenager believed there was a sectarian hate motive behind the incident.
The spokesperson said information could be given on the police non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
