Local rock band, Triggerman, will release their much anticipated new EP “Origins, Lost Travellers & Rock ‘n’ Roll Heaven” in Cool Discs on Foyle Street at 9.00am tomorrow, who have been eagerly waiting for the release of new sounds from the group.
Triggerman – whose legion of loyal fans span not only the North but the globe – have spent the last few months in Einstein Studios perfecting three tracks – Origin Of Man, The Lazaruchian and the now infamous Valhalla.
The band – made up of Eamon Bap McGeehan, Rory McCarron, Niall Deighan and Mark Doherty – have had a phenomenal year.
They launched their “Hail to the River Gods” EP, took to the stage with huge acts like Sepultura and, of course, their heroes Status Quo, who were so taken with the heavy riffs and massive choruses of the Derry band they went home with Triggerman t-shirts and CDs.
“It’s been an amazing year,” said Triggerman frontman Bap.
“We have had some epic nights with the likes of Orange Goblin, Red Fang, Mastodon, Sepultura and Status Quo as well as festivals up and down the country.
“It’s great to play along with bands that we hold in such high regard.
“When you see these guys up close, it can only help us to become a better band ourselves.
“Our Hail to the River Gods EP was a great success, has gone all over the world and had massive airplay.
“And we are building on that success now with the new EP.
“We have worked really hard to get the EP the way we want it. It’s another epic Triggerman production.”
And true to Triggerman’s hard rocking but big hearted approach the new EP is dedicated to the memory of lead guitarist Niall Deighan’s mum, Elizabeth, who sadly passed away last year and drummer Rory McCarron’s son, Matis, who was born in February.
The new Triggerman EP will be on sale at Cool Discs at 9.00am tomorrow and will also be available on Amazon, play.com, Spotify and on iTunes.
