Seven people were attacked by dogs in Derry last month.
Figures seen by Derry Daily also show nine dogs were “humanely destroyed” and legal proceedings are being taken against 14 owners for dog straying and licensing offences.
The figures are contained in a report to be presented this week to members of Derry City Council’s Environmental Services Committee.
The dog owners are being taken to court after they were issued with written reminders for failure to pay fixed penalties issued by the council’s dog wardens.
The report also shows there was one attack on livestock/other animal and 66 stray dog complaints
Twenty stray dogs were impounded 20 stray dogs were impounded while dog wardens dealt with 40 issues in relation to dog fouling.
