The completion of a £1.8million regeneration project on the former Ulster Bank site in Waterloo Place in Derry city centre has been welcomed by Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland.
Minister McCausland visited the development today and following a tour of the completed premises said the regeneration scheme has given a facelift to the prominent city centre building.
He added: “It complements the substantial work my Department has previously carried out in Waterloo Place and Guildhall Square.
“This investment will act as a catalyst to attract further private sector investment to the city centre.
“The completion of this major project is the latest example of my Department’s commitment to the regeneration of many of the City’s oldest and most prominent buildings. In the past year a number of similar projects in the city centre have received over £340,000 in grant aided funding from my Department.”
The refurbished building offers office space to a wide variety of private and community based groups.
