Cliff Byrne is set to start for Derry City in tonight’s FAI second round clash with Cobh Ramblers at St Colman’s Park (kick off 7.45pm).
The return of the defender, one of City’s most consistent performers, is a welcome boost for Candystripes boss Peter Hutton as his side aim to bounce back from last week’s 5-2 league hammering by St Patrick’s Athletic – the Brandywell club’s heaviest defeat of the season so far.
Derry will go into the game favourites to progress to the third round as Cobh, who are propping up the Airtricity Division One, having not won a league game to date.
