Police in Foyle are calling on people who are at home during the day to keep an eye out for suspicious activity at the homes of any of their neighbours who may be at work.
The call follows a number of burglaries at houses that were unoccupied while the householders were at work.
On Wednesday of this week there were burglaries in Ballynasilloe Avenue in the Culmore Road area and Hazelwood Avenue in Prehen during working hours.
PSNI Inspector Alan Hutton said police were keen to anyone who observed anything unusual in these areas or in the Bay Road area of the cityside or the Hillview Park or Prehen Woods areas.
He added: “We would encourage residents who are at home during the day to bear in mind neighbouring properties where the occupants are at work and to report any suspicious callers or activity.”
