The Community Relations Council (CRC) has welcomed the packed programme of events planned for Community Relations Week in the North West.
With over 50 events registered to take place in the Derry City Council area alone, and many more in other council areas, CRC said it demonstrated the strong commitment there is in the North West to building a united community.
Community Relations Week takes place next week (16-22 June) with more than 175 events registered to happen across Northern Ireland.
It is co-ordinated by CRC and will feature events staged by a wide range of organisations, including local councils, schools, community and voluntary groups, and public bodies.
CRC is supporting today’s North West launch event for Community Relations Week, organised by Derry City Council in the Guildhall.
Entitled “NRG4 Identity?,” it is showcasing some of the activities taking place locally during the week.
CRC chairman, Peter Osborne, congratulated all of those taking part in Community Relations Week in the North West.
He said: “CRC is delighted with the packed programme of events in the North West for this year’s Community Relations Week, which will help highlight the valuable community relations work that goes on year-round to build and sustain relationships.
“Community relations work is as important and urgent now as ever before, and we are grateful to everyone in the North West who is organising or attending events during the week.”
