Foyle SDLP MP Mark Durkan has officially opened Screwfix’s first store in Derry.
Located at Springtown Road, the new store has created 12 new jobs.
The opening coincided with the start-up of a new Screwfix outlet in Lurgan, bringing the number of the company’s stores in the North to six, having already opened in Ballymena, Belfast, Newtownabbey and Bangor – all of which trade seven days a week.
The new stores are the latest addition to Screwfix’s rapidly expanding network, which now has more than 340 stores across Britain.
The Derry store will open seven days a week (Monday to Friday 7.00am-800pm, Saturday 8.00am-6.00pm and Sunday 1.00pm-6.00pm).
