Derry’s senior footballers have been drawn against Longford in the first round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Brian McIver’s side were first drawn out of the hat this morning and will be at home against the Leinster side who were defeated by two points by Wexford at the weekend on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-13.
Meanwhile, McIver is confident Fergal Doherty and Gerard O’Kane will both have recovered from injury in time to line out for the Celtic Park clash on Sat 21 June next.
Midfielder Doherty was forced to leave the field in Derry’s Ulster Championship quarter-final defeat by Donegal while half-back O’Kane was carried off with ankle ligament damage during Glenullin’s defeat to Dungiven in the All-County Football League on Sunday week last.
