Paralympic champion, Jason Smyth (Derry City Track Club), claimed another title at the Northern Ireland and Ulster Track and Field Championships held the Mary Peter’s Track in Belfast at the weekend.
The Eglinton runner clocked 10.87 seconds to take the gold medal in the 100 metres, finishing with a comfortable margin over Raheny Shamrocks AC’s Jamie Davis (11.09secs) and Liverpool Harriers’ Oliver Back (11.14secs).
Foyle Valley AC’s Scott Rankin ran a personal best of 12.41.00 to finish in second pace in the 5,000 metres, behind Annadale Striders Eddie McGinley who broke the tape in 14.35.10.
City of Derry Spartan Declan Reid claimed third place in 14.44.90.
