A commitment by Roads Service to improve the poor quality of footpaths in the Jasmine Court and Corrody Road areas of the Waterside in Derry, has been welcomed by a former Mayor of the city.
SDLP Cllr Martin Reilly said the issue of “poor quality” footpaths in the area was raising by constituents during canvassing for the recent Derry City and Strabane District Council election.
Cllr Reilly added: “I raised the matter with Roads Service at that time and welcome their response agreeing that the area needs attention.
“I understand the concerns of residents that the uneven paths pose difficulties for children playing and for elderly citizens retaining their balance.”
Cllr Reilly said he hoped Roads Service would be able to complete the repairs “as soon as possible.”
