Police in Derry are to start wearing body video cameras in a pioneering new project to record evidence between officers and members of the public.
The pilot scheme will rolled out across G District – Foyle, Strabane, Magherafelt and Limavady – from Monday next, 16 June.
Officers taking part in the pilot must comply with guidelines about when cameras are to be used.
It is understood the cameras will not be permanently switched on and people would be informed if they were being filmed.
