Ian Orr (18) recorded his first ever golfing victory in superb style at City of Derry in the weekly Thursday Open.
A well compiled 45 points left him five points clear of the chasing pack.
Ian (father of Prehen’s Fred Daly team stalwart Matthew) was steadiness personified with halves of 23 and 22 points.
James Lindsay (scr) had a level par gross round for 40 points and second place nett and indeed the best gross and Christopher Love (17) finished in third place with his 39 points.
Paul Monaghan (19) was fourth nett with 38 points and Scott Somers (13), from Faughan Valley, was the best visitor with his 36 points.
Club Foursomes Qualifying
George Curry and Aldwyn Leckey were the top winning pair in the Club Foursomes Qualifying on Wednesday evening with their winning 70 nett.
Graham Hepburn and Vincent Devenney were second 0n 71 break of tie. Sixteen pairs qualified for the match play stage and details of the draw are on the locker room notice board.
Club Championship Qualifying takes place this Monday evening, 16 June, with a shotgun start at 6.00pm.
Names should be given to the Pro Shop by Sunday 15th June.
