A 41-year-old man is due to appear before Derry Magistrates Court tomorrow following a major drugs bust in the city at the weekend.
The man was arrested during a police operation in the city on Friday evening during which a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine and suspected cannabis was recovered by police.
A 17-year-old male arrested at the same time has been released on police bail.
The man has been charged with possessing class A and class B drugs.
Ch Insp Andy Lemon said the seizure further reinforced police efforts to remove drugs from the streets of Derry.
“The potential harm to the public caused by drugs is an issue that the PSNI take seriously,” he said.
“We will continue to work in conjunction with our colleagues from organised crime branch and partner agencies to ensure we bring to justice those involved in dealing in drugs at all levels.”
