Concerns have been expressed about safety at one of Derry’s business road junctions ahead of the completion a nearby major housing scheme.
Whilst welcoming the near completion of new houses at Bradley’s Pass in Shantallow, SDLP Cllr Angela Dobbins has raised concerns the existing junction and adjoining thoroughfares are still not adequate.
Cllr Dobbins said: “I raised this issue when this development received planning permission. The junction from Bradley’s Pass onto Glengalliagh Road is a nightmare with long queues of traffic. There have also been frequent accidents.
“Soon, we will more traffic on the main road and resulting in longer delays.”
Cllr Dobbins concluded: “I am urging DRD Roads Service to take appropriate action now, before the allocation of these houses and before there is a fatality.”
