Two men were given conditional discharges when they appeared at Derry Magistrates on separate charges of claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Paul Campbell (42), of Glenabbey Street, claimed Income Support, Incapacity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £5,762 while exaggerating his disability.
He was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay courts costs of £73.
Declan Villa (22), of Ballyarnett Village, claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £489 while failing to declare employment.
He was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £43.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
