News that the final works at the Brooke Park outdoor events area in Derry are on track and will be ready for use later this year has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Cllr Mickey Cooper.
Cllr Cooper said: “This is good news for the local community and users of Brooke Park that this work has progressed.” he said
He added: “I will be discussing what events can be held with the Derry City Council events team , representatives of CRAFT based in Rosemount and the Outer west Neighbourhood Partnership in next few weeks.
“With my help CRAFT will also be submitting an application to Heritage Lottery Fund in next few weeks for a new heritage exhibition in the Rosemount factory.”
Cllr Cooper concluded: “It’s very important we are proactive in developing infrastructure and facilities in the greater Brooke Park area in advance of the wider restoration of the main park which we expect to begin in near future.”
