A Derry teenager is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to robbing a convenience store in the city at the start of this year.
Shane Kavanagh (18), of Chamberlain Street, admitted robbing approximately £50 in cash from a staff member of the Day Today store at Sevenoaks in the Waterside area of the city 7 January.
He also pleaded guilty to having a knife.
Defence barrister Joe Brolly told Derry Crown Court, Kavanagh presented himself voluntarily to police less than three weeks after the robbery and had handed over £50 to his solicitor.
Judge Phillip Babington adjourned sentencing to 15 August next for the purpose of pre-sentence reports.
Kavanagh was remanded on bail.
