Derry City Council is to loo-k at the possibility of improving public toilet provision in the city.
Two cubicly-type WCs next to Victoria Market car park off Strand Road – which are “pay for” – are the only public toilets located in the city centre.
At present, members of the public have to rely on toilet facilities in shopping centres, pubs and restaurants in their time in need.
Raymond Martin, from the British Toilet Association (BTA) will attend this week’s meeting of the council’s Environmental Services Committee to give a presentation on consultancy/advisory services offered by the BTA regarding provision of public toilets.
