Derry City travel to take on SSE Premier Division basement club Athlone Town this afternoon buoyed by Thursday’s emphatic Europa League victory of Abersytwyth Town (kick off 4.00pm).
However, City boss Peter Hutton will be without the services of David Elebert and Mark Timlin, who miss the game through injury, as well as defender Cliff Byrne who sits out the clash through suspension.
Left winger Timlin, who netted his first goal for the Candystripes in Thursday night’s clash at Brandywell, injured his hib in the game while Elebert is suffering from a calf injury.
New signing, Philip Lowry, who came on as a substitute against Abersytwth, is likely to make his first start for the Candystripes.
However, Hutton’s most recent signing, Stephen Dooley, will not be included as his international clearance has not come through.
