There will be no collection of bins in Derry tomorrow, Derry City Council has said.
The Council issued a statement after it had been made aware of a circular being distributed by a local wheelie bin company with “inaccurate information” regarding bin collection services following yesterday’s strike action by staff.
The Council spokesperson said every effort had been made to ensure the least disruption to ratepayers with alternative systems put in place to ensure all bins were serviced – blue bins scheduled to be emptied on the cityside yesterday were emptied on Wednesday while black bins scheduled in the Waterside yesterday were emptied today.
The spokesperson added: ” There will be no additional collections in the Waterside tomorrow as stated in the circular.”
